We are so happy to see yet another weekend roll around, and we can’t wait to make the most of our Saturday!
The important thing is really take advantage of your time off. The weekend may come around every week, but it goes by in a flash, so we want to make sure we don’t let these precious days off pass us by. Here’s 5 things to do to ensure you relax this weekend.
Fill up your weekend with exciting plans so that by Saturday morning, you’ve got a packed few days. The temptation is to spend the weekend sleeping and recovering from a hectic week, but your weekend will waste away if spent in that way. Get booked up from morning until night, whether it’s brunch, a gym session or a big night out. Be the planner rather than waiting for someone else to suggest activities.
2. Switch off
Resist the urge to check those emails or squander your weekend scrolling through Instagram. The weekend is for re-charging, so that on Monday you return to the office feeling ready for another week. This means you need to take the weekend for guilt-free work-free time – no emails, no phone calls, and no reading any work-related documents!
3. Try something new
Push your limits this weekend and try something new! You’ll feel excited and accomplished by pursuing a new experience. In a 2012 survey conducted by San Francisco State University, it was revealed that those who spend their money on experiences are happier than those who spend money on material goods.
4. Give yourself a break
Don’t waste the weekend doing housework, although the temptation is to save all the boring chores for the weekend when you have more free time. Spend a few evenings during the week on your housework – one room a day – and then you won’t have to let your weekend be overtaken by hoovering. Or, if your housework does spill over into the weekend, make sure that you set yourself a time limit so that it doesn’t dominate your weekend.
5. Surround yourself with the right people
Take the weekend as an opportunity to spend time with your nearest and dearest – anyone who you might neglect during the week. The weekend is perfect for spending meaningful time with the people around you, and it will leave you feeling happy and fulfilled.
