London-born Charlotte Devaney, 27, began to DJ on the club circuit in 2007, and has played to packed out crowds the world over ever since. Now she’s released her debut single with rap mogul Snoop Dogg, and is only looking up.

“What I think people don’t realise about the music business in general is that it doesn’t happen overnight! As an artist it takes years to get noticed. Hard work and persistence is key.”

Lina Cameron did a degree in economics before coming to the decision that she had to follow her heart and her love – make-up. She’s now one of the most successful make-up artists in the country.

“Some days I am out of the studio working with brands for their campaigns, meeting people from my favourite brands or writing articles for various publications and blogs. It’s always different and diverse.”

My friend Kirk Sommer, who is the US agent for The Killers, Adele, the Arctic Monkeys etc, tells me about a lot of acts. A year and a half ago he told me to listen to Hozier, to listen to James Bay, you know he has an insane track record. If he tells me to listen to Låpsley then I’m listening.”
