Emma Miller on workwear, beauty must-haves and manners

Emma Miller is becoming one of London’s hottest it girls. She’s dated Leonardo DiCaprio, sits on the FROW at big fashion shows – ahem, Dior – and even finds time to run her own blog. We want what she’s got!

London-born Emma trained at the Stella Adler Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles and recently appeared in the series Entourage.

Here, Emma talks to List for Life about the beauty products she can’t live without, what she wears to work and why good manners never go out of style.

1. What are your top five style tips?

Number one is definitely a bold red lip. This is your best friend in times of need. Number two would be to always complement the expected with the unexpected when it comes to your outfit. Number three would be to never take what you’re wearing too seriously. Don’t wear it if you can’t dance in it! Finally good manners never go out of style.

2. What do you wear to work or when you need to look smart?

Work for me involves castings and photoshoots so my look is often picked out for me. When it comes to events, I love the opportunity to dress up – whether that’s in a gown or a tuxedo – men’s tailoring can be incredibly elegant and sexy. When the occasion calls for it there’s a number of designers I immediately think of. Fortunately I can count some of them as friends. I love Francisco Costa, Diane von Furstenburg, Hedi Slimane and Gabriela Cadena. They all have great direction and I can count on them to make me feel confident at any time.

3. What are your favourite beauty products?

SkinCeuticals Hydrating B5 is my go-to product for when I’m flying as skin can get really dehydrated in the cabin.

Charlotte Tilbury Beach Stick – Charlotte Tilbury is a genius when it comes to cosmetics and this an easy-does everything product that helps restore your glow in a hurry.

Eyeko Black Magic Mascara – I love the brand and the mascara really is the best I’ve ever used.

Rodial Dragon Blood Eye Masks – these eye masks are my saving grace. I tend to burn the candle at both ends, especially during fashion week when it’s impossible to avoid, but I use these eye masks to help me hide it!

Urban Decay Nail Colours – this is a great brand with endless colour ways in all their products. I change my nail colours a lot so Urban Decay is great, there’s so many options!

4. What is your go-to daytime look?

My go-to beauty look for the day is bare-faced, a little concealer where necessary and mascara. I don’t have time for much else in the morning! For what I wear I LOVE Converse, dark denim and a simple t-shirt. I need to keep it simple for running around London but it’s a versatile look. Then I can also smarten it up with a classic trench or a statement leather jacket.

5. What do you throw on when you are in a rush?

I’ll throw on my sports kit if I’m in a rush. At least I look productive even if I’ve overslept!

6. What is the best beauty advice you can give?

Look after your hair and nails. As long as those two are in good condition, you can get away with a whole lot.

Now what?
