You know the protocol when it comes to engagement announcements online. There’s the ring photo, thank you statuses, video announcements and then, sometimes a corny engagement photoshoot in a meadow or something. We thought we’d seen it all… until now.
Job offers are never given the same precedence as engagements but for California resident Benita Abraham, things were different. After seven brutal months of job-hunting, Benita found her dream job, applied and only went and got the position!
To celebrate her overflowing pride and ecstasy, Benita staged a full engagement-style photoshoot on the beach… with her job offer…what?
That’s right, as you can see from above, she #saidyes to the job offer as blatantly presented by the framed picture that reads “Job Offer”.
Part celebration, part satire, Benita wanted to change the way people on Facebook view job offers are passé. She titled her album full of these romantic shots: “#notjustforbabiesmarriagesandbirthdays”. Damn right, girl.
There are some classic shots below of Benita waking up in the morning with her offer, her ‘love story’ detailing the timeline of getting the offer, her first work shoes, a cookie that has the word ’employed’ iced onto it and loads more hilarious photos. Check some of them out below and expect to see copycat versions pop up on your timeline in the near future.
This has got to be the best one! #FirstWorkShoes needs to catch on!
We haven’t seen such creativity used to celebrate or get a job offer since one guy designed a whole issue of GQ as his CV, and that was just for an internship!
