If you follow us on social media (and if you don’t, go go go!), you’ll know that last week was a very manic one at List for Life towers. I hope you’ve picked up your issue of NME this week and checked out our List for Life cover wrap. We are now officially launched and in the words of Elle Woods, “we did it!”
But what exactly have I been getting up to over the last week? Well, a lot. I’ve never launched anything in my life, let alone a new site, so things have been challenging to say the least. Navigating Facebook algorithms, publicist’s schedules and marketing plans has been the story my life recently.
But, you know, everything is a learning curve (and perhaps for me, being an editor at 23, it’s been particularly steep!), but I have learnt loads. Here are the main lessons I’m taking from this experience…
1. Find your dream team
List for Life is a huge team effort. Although I am so biased (obvs), our team here are all superstars. Despite posing outside in -2 degree wind, we’re all looking really proud and positive here.
2. Just go with it
Our most read article of the week wasn’t what we were expecting. After all the planning that we did, sometimes you just can’t predict everything! And that’s ok. Click here to read that article.
3. The best is yet to come
Ok so this saying was seen on every celeb’s Insta #inspo New Year’s Eve post, and you’re probably so over it, but it’s actually true. I’m so excited for what’s to come with List for Life. We’re going to be covering the NME awards next month and starting to build up our video channel, so expect to see some really cool interviews. Definitely make sure you stick around!
