Want to know how to get perfect hair for your desk to dinner look? Of course you do. We asked someone who knows exactly how to achieve the polished look we all want – Lauren Pope.
Here our guest writer gives YOU her top tips and hair secrets.
It’s difficult for busy women to spend hours getting their hair nighttime-ready after long days at the office, especially with hectic January schedules.
The main idea for my extension brand Hair Rehab London was to help women create beautiful, full and lustrous hairstyles in no time at all, so that you look like you’ve spent hours getting ready when really it’s taken minimal effort.
1. Low-maintenance pony
A quick and easy style is the on-trend side ponytail. This can help to hide even the worst bad hair days. Start by separating the front of your hair into a low side parting, then smooth the front section across your forehead to bobby pin it. You then pull the remaining hair into a low side ponytail and secure with a hairband. If you then want to give your ponytail some more volume and length, I would recommend my Hair Rehab Luxe Wrap Ponytail. It’s made with natural hair so can easily be curled too – party hair in to time!
2. Pretty curly hair made easy
Gorgeous curls are a favourite hair style at this time of year, and I have a trick for helping those of you who have trouble with your hair not holding curls. Whether curling your own hair or human hair extensions, once the curl has been made with a curling iron, pin it up to the scalp for it to cool to ensure shapely and long lasting hold. Once cool I would then gently brush it out with a paddle brush for sophisticated waves.
3. Natural volume is so chic
I like to back-comb my hair at the roots for an instant volume boost! I’m not a fan of over backcombing though. Just some light teasing can create subtle but sexy shape.
4. Take care of your hair
Using heat on your hair and using loads of different styling products along with the drying winter weather can take its toll on your hair. Make sure you keep your hair healthy and conditioned. Use a good quality conditioner or even a weekly deep conditioning oil treatment to ensure your hair is the healthiest it can be.
5. Opt for an up-do
Up-dos don’t have to be complicated. Split your hair in two and wind into a thick twist. Then, roll up the twist to form a doughnut shape at the nape of your neck and keep in place with bobby pins. Or alternatively opt for one of my Hair Rehab Clip-on buns, which takes even less time to put in and creates fullness for a really nice and subtle party look.
