Love Island’s Kady McDermott Takes A Stance Against Body Shaming

The Love Island beauty has encouraged women to 'empower' one another after receiving cruel comments about her body shape...

There are so many pros to being in the public eye – money, fame, free clothes, Instagram followers – but there are some negatives, too. And it sounds like Love Island’s Kady McDermott has been dealing with an unwanted side effect to her newfound fame lately.

The brunette beauty is known for her epic make-up skills and super cute petite figure, and after her and boyfriend Scott Thomas’s recent steamy lingerie shoot, all eyes have been on Kady’s enviable curves.

But the 21-year-old felt compelled to speak out on social media on how much she’s been body shamed over the past week. And to be honest, we’re just as sick of it as she is.

‘With in the period of a week I’ve been accused of being pregnant and too skinny’, Kady wrote on Twitter.

Stating her fury with the comments she’s been receiving, Kady added: ‘Body shaming is absolutely vile it needs to stop! (sic).’

The Love Island star also added that women needed to start supporting the sisterhood, posting: ‘Women need to start empowering other women more’.

AMEN to that.

And former fellow Islander Olivia Buckland quickly jumped in to support her pal, replying: ‘Disgusting ain’t it. You’re peng ignore em (sic).’

Nathan Massey also piped up, posting: ‘?? the haters my little sis. ?’, whilst a fan followed up with: ‘Jealous people will say anything to bring you down ignore them you are stunning ? X’.

Kady’s had to speak out about this kind of thing before, and it makes us seriously sad. Just because someone’s in the public eye, it doesn’t mean they have zero feelings. So come on guys, how about a little kindness?

We’ve got your back, Kady. Keep flaunting that hot bod ’til your heart’s desire, we say!
