After much anticipation, YouTube sensation Zoella and her vlogger boyfriend Alfie Deyes have finally unveilled their Madame Tussauds waxworks.
Taking to Instagram to unveill their snap, Zoe captioned the moment: ‘This is so surreal & amazing! Immortalised in wax with @pointlessblog’
The pair previously announced that they were to be added to the hall of fame at the famous London landmark.
We can imagine that it’s a little odd being confronted with an identical version of yourself, but seeing double of your partner has got to be super strange.
After meeting his own wax face for the first time, Alfie joked: “I think it’s really weird that there’ll be two Zoe’s in the world that are exactly the same. Although one of them won’t speak and move, so if you ever annoy me I can just switch you over.”
He also talked about the idea of seeing yourself in 3D: “You have such a vivid perception of yourself and what you look like, and flaws in yourself, the things you don’t like about yourself, that if the exact same replica of you passes in the street you wouldn’t recognize it.”
Either way, we’re sure that their fans will be flocking in their thousands (or millions) to ‘meet’ the famous YouTube couple. Selfie, anyone?
You know you’ve hit the big time when you join the famous faces at Madame Tussauds.
Zoe Sugg, AKA Zoella as she’s known on YouTube, is possibly the most successful vlogger on the ‘net right now.
She’s been building a following of fans and viewers since she created her blog back in 2009 – and now, she’s wracked up over 14 million social followers across her networks. Phew.
A lover of fashion and beauty, the internet star has been sharing her experiences and favourites through her videos, and her daily vlogs have allowed her viewers access into her personal life. It’s the reality TV of internet culture.
The craze continues, and last night the YouTube star shared some exciting news. Tweeting to her 3.18 million followers, she revealed: “…@PointlessBlog & I have been asked to be made into wax figures for Madame Tussaudes! BEYOND EXCITED. Such a cool opportunity :)”
Her boyfriend Alfie Deyes, AKA Pointless Blog, has a vlog audience of his very own, and the couple will be forever immortalised in London’s landmark museum. They join the likes of One Direction, Rihanna and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, as well as figures such as Charles Dickens and David Cameron.
The historical venue sure is moving with the times, and the couples’ waxworks will show them doing what they do best – sitting on their bed (which is the setting for most of their videos, FYI) filming and uploading to their YouTube channels.
A representative at Madame Tussauds stated: “We are delighted to be working with Alfie and Zoe. It’s a first for the attraction and reflects just how huge these YouTube stars are.”
At the age of 24, Zoe Sugg already has a novel under her belt, with a sequal on the way, and her own line of beauty products.
This modern day celebrity has used her influence by taking part in a series of high profile charity events, including BBC One’s The Great British Bake Off for Comic Relief where she starred alongside icons such as Gok Wan, and taking on the role of Digital Ambassador for mental health charity, Mind.
So. Whether you fancy meeting Prince Harry, going back in time to greet Martin Luther King Jnr. or you just want to chill on set with these internet stars, you’ll be able to head to Madame Tussauds…
