Zara Has A New Sustainable Range And We Want It All

The new Join Life collection from Zara is giving us LIFE...

Zara is practically style heaven. The high street gem is constantly treating us to designer inspired pieces at a fraction of the price, and we have to admit we’re just a tiny bit obsessed.

But now the Spanish store, which is typically known for its fast-fashion approach to clothing, is trying something completely different by launching its very first sustainable range.

And we basically want it all.

Zara’s #JoinLife collection is described as “clothing that respects the environment,” using fabrics such as organic cotton, recycled wool, and sustainable Tencel as well as producing recycled boxes to ship the clothing.

Sounds pretty great right? And the eco-friendly range is everything you’d hope for from the fashion gods – belled sleeves, oversized coats and crisp shirts galore.

Our favourite piece has to be the Gathered Waist Jumpsuit, £79.99, which embraces Zara’s classic clean silhouette and mineral tones – Beaut.


Despite being slightly more expensive than their usual range, you can rest assured you’re paying a few extra pennies for the good of the environment.

The new collection is part of a growing trend which encourages a more sustainable future for fashion. M&S’ Shwop Drop bins took the high street by storm a few years ago after offering shoppers a place to drop off unwanted clothes to be donated to Oxfam or recycled.

H&M also got involved with their 2012 Conscious Collection which includes beautiful pieces promising to “make fashion sustainable and sustainability fashionable.”

And now Zara has joined these environmentally savvy retailers with the #JoinLife campaign, which also features “Boxes with a Past,” where artists set to work transforming recycled Zara cardboard boxes into beautiful works of art.

As well as the new line being pretty amazing (we didn’t expect anything less from Zara) we also think the campaign is a giant leap in the right direction for sustainable fashion.
