Would You Wear Shorts On Your Wedding Day?

hotos: J Crew

Bridal fashion has undergone some major changes in the last few years with women choosing to wear crop tops, jumpers, shorter styles and often donning more than just one dress. It’s no longer just about the one big poofy white gown, brides are starting to seriously mix things up as they walk down that aisle.

And now, the big ball skirt is being ousted for – can you believe it? – bridal shorts! It’s not from some quirky designer brand either, J Crew’s latest beachy bridal collection features shorts for your wedding day. These white sequin separates are teamed with strappy silver sandals, matching sequin tank tops and creamy cashmere jumpers. Costing £450, one big bonus with shorts is that you could definitely wear them again – unlike that big wedding dress that might sit in your cupboard for years.

This isn’t the first time we have seen (and been wowed) by a pair of snazzy bridal shorts. Style maven Olivia Palermo famously wore shorts to wed her gorgeous hubby, teaming them with a cream-hued jumper and a full Carolina Herrera tulle skirt.

Picking seperates for your big day is certainly becoming a more common choice but what do you think – would you venture as far out-of-the-box as shorts on your wedding day? For a stylish, non-bridal bride, they seem like the obvious choice! Hey, if they’re good enough for Olivia!
