Sophie Hunter has been on our radar for quite some time now and yet we struggle to think of a time when she has put a fashionable foot wrong. Benedict Cumberbatch’s new wife is officially the queen of demure, elegant dressing and we think her classic style is one to watch for 2015. Here’s why we are totally in love with her wardrobe and the stylish tips you should take from her.
She knows the power of simplicity.
Expertly taking to award season like she had been there more times than Meryl Streep, Sophie knew how to steal the show. For the BAFTAs, Sophie plumped for an effortlessly elegant black satin Maison Martin Margiela gown which fit her to absolute perfection. With the exception of the bow detail at the back, the gown was pure simplicity and that’s why it worked so well. Sometimes, to be the belle of the ball, you need to just strip it back to basics. And then you look like this. Need we say more?
But she isn’t afraid to step outside the box.
Whether it’s a dress made of leather or a risque slit on a red Oscars gown, Sophie may been the queen of red carpet class, but that doesn’t mean she always plays it safe. When a pregnant lady has a slit up to her hip, you cannot label her boring.
Her appreciation for Erdem’s blooms.
A girl after our own hearts, this lady clearly has a soft spot for Erdem’s floral creations. When you know something works, you know.
She doesn’t slip when she’s off duty.
Electric blue coat? Tick. Metallic trainers? Tick. Hollywood sunnies? Tick. Sophie knows how to rock an airport terminal like it’s the red carpet. Again tapping into a stylish simplicity, Sophie proves the power in picking timeless pieces that will last you a lifetime, go with anything and will always be on trend.
She’s bessies with Anna Wintour!
Taking to the Valentino Couture show with none other than Anna Wintour, Sophie started tongues wagging on who would be making her wedding dress. While we are still none the wiser and eagerly awaiting a sneak peak at what she wore, the girl’s clearly got connections and for that, we can’t wait to see what she wears next.
