What with all the food, drink and present decisions to make, what you’ll wear come Christmas day is probably at the very bottom of your priority list. Here at LOOK HQ, though, we’re suckers for a few fashion festivities. Whether you’ll be spending your day vegging out on the sofa, jam-packed with family fun or filled with a shedload of mulled wine and dancing around the tree, there’s no better excuse to dress up to the nines than on the 25th.
Christmas day is the one day that sleepwear really does matter. Whether you admit to it or not, no-one wants to get snapped for the family photo album in those tatty old slacks you were wearing to bed circa 1990. Invest in a chic new teddy to show off and a gown and slippers for extra comfort – you never know how long you’re going to spend debunking the bottom of your Christmas tree. A cosy Primark Christmas jumper also never did a girl wrong. Hint, hint.
Purple Pencil Skirt, Dorothy Perkins, Coming Soon
Once present opening is over, it’s all about indulging in a real, hearty Yuletide feast. But as well as leaving room for an extra few pounds, it’s the only time you’ll be able to crack out some sparkle without looking totally OTT. Go for the full shebang in head-to-toe sequins, or inject a subtle hit of glitz with some bold jewellery. Break out everything you got in your beauty advent calendar and put it to good use, a red lip and gold eye is a Christmas classic.
At this point, you’ve probably consumed so much food and drink you’re close to bursting, but there’s still a lorra lorra lot of celebrations to come. Think family-friendly glam. A figure-hugging frock is just the ticket, but if you really have outdone yourself with the food this year, a prom style skirt will solve all your festive fashion woes, too. Rejoice!
So there you have it. A full day of fool-proof get-ups for your most stylish Christmas yet. Ho, ho, ho!
