If you’re anything like us here in the Look office, you’ll have watched Burberry’s Christmas campaign video (starring the adorable Romeo Beckham) countless times by now. And while we were overwhelmed by the festive magic of it all, we couldn’t help but notice a familiar face among all those layers of champagne tulle. Yep, we’d recognise Burbs’ brand new leading lady anywhere thanks to her high street credentials.
And in case you can’t quite place her, let us introduce you to Hannah Dodd: model, performing arts student and the former face of our favourite hot spots including Primark, Boden and Monsoon. Hailing from Essex, she’s now set to go stellar as she follows in the footsteps of Burberry girls Suki Waterhouse and Cara Delevingne. Luckily, we managed to catch Hannah to discuss her brand new campaign, meeting Kate Moss and where she loves to shop on the great British high street. Prepare to fall for Burberry’s new girl…
Congratulations on your Burberry campaign! How does it feel to have been chosen by the brand?
Thank you! It feels amazing! It still hasn’t really sunk in yet.
We’ve seen you modelling for high street brands such as Primark, Boden and Monsoon in the past. How does it feel to have gone from there to being the face of Burberry’s Christmas campaign?
I feel really lucky to have been able to work with those brands. I’ve learnt a lot and met some really lovely people in the process. I feel so privileged to have been chosen for the Burberry campaign!
When did you discover that you’d got the job? How did you celebrate?
I found out after a few days into rehearsals when Danielle my agent at Select rang me to tell me, I was so excited. There wasn’t much time to celebrate as we pretty much went straight into filming! But I did celebrate with the cast of dancers and some of the Select team at the launch on Monday, it was great to see everyone again!
What was it like being on set and working with Christopher Bailey? Were you nervous?
I was very nervous, it was such a large scale production it was quite overwhelming at first. But the cast and crew were all so friendly, it was such an enjoyable project to be a part of.
You’re currently studying for a performing arts degree in London, aren’t you? How do you find the time to fit everything in?
I don’t, but I’m working on it! I get lots of help from supportive family, friends and my lovely agency Select Models.
As a Burberry girl, you’re following in the footsteps of Kate Moss and Cara. Have you been able to meet them yet?
That sentence still sounds crazy to me! No I haven’t, but I’d love to!
Is there one person or brand that you’d love to work with in the future?
Too many! But I’m very excited to be part of the Burberry family.
What’s next for your modelling career? Have you got any more campaigns coming up?
At the moment I’m focusing on my degree, but I’m excited to see what lies ahead!
Finally, what are your favourite high street stores? Is there one place you always go to?
I love H&M, Topshop and Miss Selfridge. All the high streets are great, though– mixing and matching is fun!
