Sarah Jessica Parker On Her New Modelling Gig

Sarah Jessica Parker was recently announced as the face of amazing denim brand, Jordache Jeans, which was hugely popular during the 1980s and looks set to have a major revival with this exciting new campaign. The new range goes on sale this week in the States and SJP is revealing all in an interview with Fashionista.

When asked if she will be modelling into her 70s like Joan Didion recently did for Celine, SJP answers:

“Alot of [my] work is outside of the cameras and has nothing to do with me being documented. But when an opportunity like [the Jordache campaign] comes up with a brand that I’ve known since I was a little girl, that I’ve coveted and have all sorts of memories attached to their campaigns, it’s really flattering.”

The fashionista also discussed how her personal style has changed over the years:

“I tend to wear things and buy things that are for life now. I’m less inclined to be hypnotized by a trend or a ‘moment’, but I think that’s a really important part in young women’s lives: to experience and dabble and sort of flirt with all those things because it sorts out who you are. That’s just not necessarily what I’m looking for now. That’s probably the biggest change – just how I look at purchases.”

Shot by legendary fashion photographer, Michael Thompson, the 50 year old looks sensational in skintight denim jeans and a chic striped vest. Giving Kim Kardashian a run for her money with that booty shot, we are now definitely in the market for a pair of Jordache Jeans. 

Following in the footsteps of the likes of Heidi Klum and Elizabeth Hurley who have both fronted the brand, SJP has been chosen as the face of both the women’s line and The Jordache Look, which is a vintage-inspired collection. With totally retro hues and styles, the ever-so-stylish Ms Parker makes a serious case for both ranges.

The president of Jordache, Liz Berlinger, explained to Today why SJP had been chosen to front their brand.

“It’s simple: everyone loves Sarah Jessica Parker! She is authentic and has staying power. Sarah Jessica Parker is stylish, talented, personable and family-orientated…She is a glamorous fashion icon but she is still approachable. Similarly, Jordache is an iconic brand, but we make fashion-forward jeans and high quality denim accessible to everyone.”

We couldn’t agree more. With her incredible bridal shoe collection just launched, her SJP footwear range launching at Bloomingdales and juggling her role as a mother, actress and style icon, SJP is certainly an inspiration. And boy does she look good in those jeans.

Now if she could just find some time to squeeze in ‘Sex And The City 3’, we’d be totally content.
