New York Fashion Week is well and truly under way, with day two of the shows, FROWs and street style mahem due to commence in only a few hours. While we’re excited about today’s offerings including Jason Wu, Cushnie et Ochs, Adam Selman (Rihanna’s fave) and Monique Lhuillier, we can’t help but get excited about Saturday’s schedule, which will bring the brand new collection from one of the A-list’s best kept style secrets.
Say hello to Misha Nonoo, the Bahrain-born designer who was brought up in London, and is now based in New York. As a result, Misha blends together different cultures to produce clothes with a grown-up polish, which have become the celebs’ new go-to. Yep, from Allison Williams and Sarah Jessica Parker to Jessica Chastain and Gwyneth Paltrow, our favourite trendsetters have made Misha their secret weapon. And with her signature tailored separates and contemporary silhouettes, it’s not hard to see why.
Misha made her debut at New York Fashion Week back in autumn/winter 2011, and has since won prizes including the Fashion Group International’s Rising Star award in 2012, as well as progressing to the final of 2013’s CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund initiative. We fell in love with her SS15 collection thanks to its fusion of art and fashion, featuring showstopping jumpsuits (as seen on Emma Watson at the British Fashion Awards), bursts of rich colour and printed silks. Tomorrow’s show is even causing a stir already, thanks to the announcement that working with hair maestros TRESemme, Misha’s models will be styling their own tresses for the catwalk.
That’s right, to mark the runway debut of the new salon-inspired TRESemme Perfectly (un)Done collection, the models will be able to personalise their look from start to finish, giving tips and tricks along the way to inspire us all. Misha herself said: “For my Fall 2015 collection I was inspired by the psychology of the woman and the evolving state of her life. I am excited to partner with TRESemme on a curated hair look that celebrates personal style and inspires women to maintain a sense of conviction and ease on and off the runway.” That means we’ll all be rocking runway locks, then!

While we can’t wait to see the new collection, we’re also excited to see which A-list ladies will be sitting FROW-side. Will Jessica Chastain be in attendance? The actress has regularly Instagrammed shots of herself in Misha Nonoo outfits, after all. Or will be be seeing model Alessandro Ambrosio, the model Misha accompanied to the CFDAs last year? Either way we reckon we’d better take notice, as we’ll no doubt be seeing these catwalk creations on a red carpet sometime soon.
In the meantime, nail the Misha Nonoo look for yourself with our high street tributes listed below. It’s all about a feminine silhouette with a tailored edge. You’ll be FROW-ready in no time…
