This Is How Cheryl Got Ready For The Cannes Red Carpet

Cheryl Fernandez-Versini may have looked utterly ah-mazing on the Cannes red carpet last week – but she still felt pretty nervous beforehand.

The singer, 31, has opened up about how she gets ready for a super-glam event, revealing that there’s actually quite a lot that can go wrong.

‘There’s always nerves. There’s a little car journey from leaving where you are getting dressed to arriving at the carpet,’ Cheryl tells YouTube blogger Kaushal Beauty for ICON UK.

‘You can always be creased, your material is creased, or in that short time you’ve got lipstick somewhere by accident or nail polish by accident, you’ve got to be so careful.’

Luckily for Chezza, it seems as though she had no problems while en route to the premiere of Woody Allen’s film Irrational Man in Cannes on Friday.

She was simply stunning in a pink caped gown from Ralph & Russo’s SS15 collection. She worked a very 90s make-up look, pairing mauve lipstick with subtle smoky eyes.

Her newly-blonde crop had been styled into a twisted chignon and she’d accessorised with delicate drop earrings.

Cheryl attended as L’Oreal’s ambassador and was joined by her French husband Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini, who she met at Cannes last year.

It’s no wonder she looked so polished – she’d decided on her outfit a whole MONTH before jetting to France.

‘I chose the dress first and then I’ll discuss with hair and make-up people what we think will be most complementary to the dress,’ says Cheryl.

‘If the dress has a lot going on then I will minimise the make-up or I’ll make the eyes a statement or the lips, I won’t do both.’

But we can see why Cheryl wanted to be so prepared.

‘When you get to the carpet and then you have paparazzi both sides, aerial view. You are literally 360 in vision. If you have something not quite right, someone will see it,’ she continues.
