The world’s second largest diamond has just been unearthed and it’s almost the size of a tennis ball! We kid you not; we couldn’t believe our eyes when we saw the size of this rock. The whopper of a diamond was recently discovered in the Karowe mine in Botswana, known for being a diamond hot spot. A rock this size hasn’t been found in over a century since the 3,106-carat Cullinan diamond, which was found in South Africa in 1905. We did the measurements and this diamond is actually 1,000 times the size of the average engagement ring, wow! We could only imagine mega A listers Beyonce and Kim Kardashian West topping the list of potential buyers. Since their taste is diamonds are how would we put it, larger than life.
The diamond currently named Karowe AK6, is a 1,111 carat and currently has no price tag as its awaiting evaluation. We can just see all the insanely rich celebs clambering to make a potential bid. But just to get a scope on the potential selling price. Lucara Diamond firm, the lucky company that discovered the rock, recently sold a 341.9-carat diamond with the same quality as the Karowe for just under £14 million. So if we do the math that means this tennis size diamond could be sold for just over £44 million!?
Due to the obvious rare nature of the rock, security has been stepped up to prevent any potential thefts. Talk about celebrity status! But when it comes to diamonds this size they all meet the same fate, and are cut into much smaller pieces. But not if Kanye West has anything to do with it! Share this diamond? No way, it would be the perfect Yeezy style ‘push present’ to Kim, for well, just having his child of course, Lolz. But it is estimated it will take over a year just for the diamond to be cut and polished to perfection. So it will be in tip top condition with more than enough to go around. > Kim K just loves to show off that rock
