Harry Potter fans, we have some VERY exciting news for you.
An HP-themed cocktail bar has opened! It’s called The Lockhart and it looks almost as flippin’ cool as Hogwarts itself.
So now we can sip on potions-inspired drinks, check out some totally magic interior and feel like we’re in a slightly hipper version of the Leaky Cauldron. Amazing.
Unfortunately, there’s one minor hitch – the bar is in Toronto, Canada. But that doesn’t mean we can’t gush over the photos of its ah-mazing design.
And hey, at least we know where our next holiday destination will be.
So what Harry Potter-related items can we expect to see?
Well. References to the J.K. Rowling-penned series include a hidden Deathly Hallows symbol and a small collection of Harry Potter POP! dolls.
As you can see from the photos, a neon sign bearing the words ‘All Was Well’ takes pride of place on the wall. Of course, these are the last three words written in the final book.
Even the name is an ode to Professor Gilderoy Lockhart, Harry’s (terrible) Defence Against The Dark Arts teacher in his second year at Hogwarts.
The bars calls its cocktails ‘potions and elixirs’ and tasty treats on offer include the Befuddlement Brew, The Shacklebolt and Ludo’s Debt.
They’re hoping to serve Butterbeer when they find a name that isn’t under copyright and there’s even a drink with such an obscure reference you’ll get it on the house if you can figure it out. Ooh.
‘Without knowing any of the Harry Potter stuff, you already will think of this as a cool bar,’ co-owner Paris Xerx tells Now Toronto.
‘You’d come here and see the stag’s head on the wall and go: “Wow, I love that,” but a Harry Potter fan might say: “That’s a Patronus.”‘
Please Accio the whole bar over to us. Or at least give us some Floo Powder so we can pop to Canada?!
