The couture shows have had us swooning over amazing frocks since it all kicked off earlier this week and yesterday’s offerings have extended our dream-dress lists quite significantly. From amazing gowns we want to get married in to the craziest frocks we have ever seen, here’s what you missed on the world’s most glamorous catwalks yesterday.
Jean Paul Gaultier retired from the ready-to-wear catwalk last season to focus all his efforts on couture and, even with this added pressure on his shoulders, he did not disappoint. From sailor-ready jumpsuits to gorgeous pops of orange and amazing circular skirts, there were plenty of wow moments on this particular couture catwalk. The Breton-stripes-meets-ball-gown was officially one of our favourite looks of the week.
Meanwhile, it was Fendi’s first-ever couture catwalk and with Karl Lagerfeld now in his 50th year at the helm of the brand, it was bound to be something special. As well as a dress that cost €1 million, it was all patent boots up to the thighs and metallic feathers making us swoon. Add to this, Margiela’s showstopping texture show and Elie Saab’s dream brides, and you have one hell of a day at couture. Here were some of our favourites moments.
