Not to be put off by an otherwise dull Monday evening, the stars turned out in force last night for the UK premiere of ‘Dior & I’ at London’s Curzon cinema. The damp conditions gave guests an excuse to showcase a bevy of fabulous spring coats and cover-ups, looking effortlessly stylish whilst at the same time beating the drizzly March chill.
Game of Thrones’ starlet Natalie Dormer turned heads in a dramatic red Dior frock coat complete with oversized black buttons that swung out petticoat style as she posed for the cameras. This teamed with a statement scarlet lip and black contrast courts made for a glamorous entrance.
Not to be outdone in the outerwear stakes, model Erin O’Connor also opted for eye-catching outerwear in bright sky blue with flared sleeves and a pocket detail that she artfully draped over her elegant shoulders.
And, because this is Dior darling, sharp tailoring also made an appearance in gorgeous bold shades. Daisy Lowe cut an enviable silhouette in a claret two-piece suit buttoned at the waist, whilst model-of-the-moment Matilda Lowther opted for a military style double-breasted suit in a covetable shade of vibrant forest green.
Dior & I, directed by Frédéric Tcheng, is a documentary following the brand’s creative director Raf Simons and the trials and tribulations he faced designing his very first haute couture collection for the fashion house. Touted to be THE fashion flick of the season and judging by the fabulously stylish attendees last night, Dior & I is already topping the best-dressed lists for audiences alone!
If you fancy a pop of primary colour for spring, take inspiration from Natalie and Erin and shop one of these bold beauties.
