Is hasn’t even been a whole week since Julien Macdonald showcased his AW15 collection at London Fashion Week last Saturday, but no less than three A-list ladies have already stepped out in his new season designs. After drawing quite the starry crowd to the show at London’s grand Foreign and Commonwealth Office – Whitney Port and Millie Mackintosh were front row – we wondered how long it would be before we saw Julien’s uber-glam creations hit the red carpet.
First to get her hands on a hot-off-the-catwalk frock was Taylor Swift, who opted for an emerald green and lace split front number for an awards bash. Definitely one of the FROW crowd’s favourite’s from the show, it seems Swifty took some major inspiration from Mr Macdonald’s catwalk, working the same slicked back hair look and black mules. Well, if it ain’t broke and all that.
Wednesday’s Brit Awards saw a double whammy of Julien designs steal the style spotlight. The first came courtesy of Kim Kardashian, who rocked his seriously racy crochet cat suit to present an award and get down to husband Kanye’s performance with her celeb pals. It seems Kimmy was as impressed with the show’s styling as Taylor, as she accessorized her curve-clinging look with a black choker just like the model’s.
Cementing Julien’s status as the most-wanted designer of London Fashion Week, Rita Ora slipped into his gunmetal fringed mini dress to get her groove on at the Sony Music after party at London’s Sushi Samba. The pop princess added a dose of signature edge with an oversized leather jacket and her trusty chain strap ankle boots.
Any other A-list fans better get in quick before the whole collection does the red carpet rounds. Congrats Julien!
