As you’ve probably noticed, we’re pretty smitten with Millie Mackintosh’s debut jewellery collection for Dorothy Perkins, and couldn’t wait to snap up the gorgeous designs. From statement necklaces and dainty chains to jewelled bracelets and beautiful vintage-inspired earrings, it’s got all your accessory needs covered, and we couldn’t wait to show you how we’ve been rocking our favourites.
Head of Fashion News Lucy Wood has gone for Millie’s antique-look jewel drop earrings. Inspired by her grandmother’s jewellery collection (too cute) Lucy has made the red carpet-worthy bling work for day by creating a cool contrast and wearing with ripped denim, a simple tee and a structured, mannish style printed duster coat (it’s from the LOOK for Simply Be collection FYI).
Deputy Fashion News Editor Gemma Gow is all about Millie’s bracelets. Piling three together on one wrist is the perfect way to add just the right amount of sparkle to her smart/casual combo of a jumper, satin midi skirt and skate shoes. Try adding a watch into the mix too.
Thanks to the eye-catching embellishment on her pretty top, Beauty Editor Samantha Freedman has no need for a knockout necklace, but that doesn’t mean she can’t still accessorize. Millie’s pastel jewel cluster studs are just the right shape, size and colour to complement her top without tipping the look into OTT territory. A bright pink lip brings the whole look together perfectly. Look out for the matching necklace and bracelet.
Showcasing another one of Ms Mackintosh’s necklaces, Freelance News Writer Victoria Joy is rocking the trio of dainty chains. They come as one, but can be separated for a look that’s as simple or as statement as you like. We’re definitely with Victoria on wearing all three at once, and they look amazing with a v-neckline or unbuttoned shirt.
As for Millie herself, when we caught up with her at the collection’s launch this week, she was rocking a seriously good layered look, teaming her mega gem-drop necklace – our personal fave – with a polished shirt and jumper combo. Thanks Mills, we’ll be copying that one this weekend!
