The fash pack are embracing all things printed for summer with bold graphics emblazoned over the chicest cuts. Think arty prints that stormed the SS14 catwalks, from Karl Lagerfeld’s ‘art student chic’ pantone-streaked dresses at Chanel to Phoebe Philo’s ’80s-esque graphic prints in hot primary hues at Céline. And now the trusty street-style set have delivered a pretty convincing argument that we should all turn ourselves into walking works of art for SS14, with über-blogger Amy Rose Watts rocking her paint-splatterd Zara strides with a clashing Breton tee and the shoe of the season, Birkenstocks. Très cool. While Sophie Milner keeps things clean with her monochrome look, adding a pastel biker to break up the black and white.
But the style set weren’t stopping there – they ushered a new wave of plant prints for us to lust over, too. Yep, the new botanical on the block is the ever-so tropical palm-leaf print. We first spied the look on blogger Laura Kate, who rocked her Primark leaf-motif skirt city-style by adding a super-fine knit with tough chunky boots and a biker. While Kylie Martin made the tropical trend evening ready by working heeled mules and a mini bag with her Wallis frock – roof-top bar perfection. Take that, rainy Tuesday – we’ll be summer ready and wearing super-sunny prints until the weather decides to play ball.
