Street Style: Mules Worked Two Ways

Guess what? We love mules. We love them so much we want to wear them with everything, from our super-sleek office smarts to the girlie dresses we float around in at the weekend. And while we may have been in some doubt as to whether these must-haves were versatile enough to keep up with our multi-faceted wardrobes (ahem), up popped Emma Hill, a lady so acquainted with the delights of the mule that we bow down to her sartorial superiority.

Emma’s first clever move was to bag herself a pair of

Zara backless beauties. It’s safe to say these mules have had us swooning for a while now, and although we were squealing in delight when they initially went into the sale, we were so busy jumping for joy that they sold out before we’d even had the chance to try them on. We love what they’re doing for Emma’s Forever 21 leather trews and long-line blazer. A casual, tucked-in Topshop tee makes this look perfect for dashing from your desk to dinner/cocktails/everything.

For her second mule moment, Emma chose a tile-print Topshop skirt (the print du jour, FYI) cannily paired with a clashing Forever 21 jumper. In case you wondered, we’re completely obsessed with Emma’s arm-candy collection! She casually switches up a Balenciaga ‘City’ for a Chanel ‘Boy’ bag, as easy as that. We’re going to guess and say the mules have been her lucky charm, which means these three pairs on the high street (still in stock!) should bring you some designer totes of your own. Maybe don’t hold us to that, though…
