The penultimate day of New York Fashion Week brought with it a suitably glamorous line-up of A-list attendees, thanks to the likes of Michael Kors and Marchesa showing their AW15 collections yesterday. And, while each sartorial parade looked almost good enough to eat, we were somewhat distracted by a major movement happening in the wardrobes of some of our favourite trendsetting ladies.
While the runways were catering for wintery climes, there was a gang of defiant FROW-goers who seriously put a spring in our step with their sunny yellow prints. Yep, from Kate Hudson, Allison Williams and Poppy Delevingne in Michael Kors’ blooms to Blake Lively in Marchesa’s dramatic bird print skirt, it was all about buttercup hues and feminine silhouettes. What’s most exciting is that we’ve been seeing this spring trend creep into the high street’s brand new offerings, and now rails everywhere are groaning with canary colours, just waiting to be snapped up.
From River Island’s wrap-front playsuit to the Missguided co-ord that perfectly channels Kate Hudson’s look, our favourite shopping sites have got this in the bag. Full skirts, midi dresses and crop tops will help you nab the A-listers’ vibes, and look to Blake Lively for tips on how to make your yellow work right now (while we’re all freezing). The actress threw her tailored winter coat over the top of her summery outfit, making for one seriously fresh winter wardrobe update.
And while we’re loving this pop of daffodil brights, we’ve also found the perfect match for Allison Williams’ Kors co-ord. That’s right, courtesy of Red Herring at Debenhams, you could pay tribute to this designer duo for only £60. It’s a fashion week miracle!
So, as you gear up for your next installment of AW15 straight from London Fashion Week (kicking off tomorrow), shop the high street trend that ruled New York. You owe it to your spring wardrobe.
