Benedict Cumberbatch and wife Sophie Hunter have given birth to a baby boy. Congrats, you two!
The couple annonced their happy news on Saturday via a statement from the actor’s rep given to US Weekly.
‘Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter are delighted to announce the arrival of their beautiful son. We would kindly ask everyone to respect the family’s privacy during these next few precious weeks.’
Cumberbatch and Hunter met in 2009 while working on the film Burlesque Fairytales, but were only rumoured to have started dating in June 2014.
And Sophie made the entire female population drool over her gorgeous Valentino wedding dress from earlier this year.
Sophie and Benedict got married in secret – so obviously, we initially had no idea what the bride wore on her big day.
But thanks to Valentino, we were allowed a glimpse of the beautiful lace creation in all of its stunning glory, after the Italian fashion house shared a photo of the bride on its Instagram account.
‘Beautiful Sophie Hunter with Creative Directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli prepping her couture dress for her March wedding to Benedict Cumberbatch. #magicmoment #sophiehunter #benedictcumberbatch photographed by #AnnieLeibovitz for @voguemagazine’, the caption read.
The jaw-droppping couture bridal dress came in unconventional silver, giving it a decadent, vintage feel, and featured a demure high neckline and sheer embroidered sleeves.
At the time, the 37-year-old was in the early days of her pregnancy, meaning the empire-line cut of the dress flowed gracefully over her bump. Sophie designed the Valentino gown herself and it was crafted in just three months – impressive!
‘It feels very much of nature, and it’s so detailed and extraordinary that I’m still trying to get my head around how beautiful it is,’ Sophie said about her one-of-a-kind garment in the interview accompanying the picture.
Total stunner. We see silver wedding gowns catching on for summer…
