Okay we have to admit it, when Benedict Cumberbatch first announced his engagement to Sophie Hunter earlier this year, we weren’t planning on liking the girl. After all, she did take one of our favourite dashing actors off the market.
However, Sophie has totally won us over with her chic red carpet looks over the past few weeks, so we’ll forgive her for stealing our no-longer-future husband.
She kicked things off with a gorgeous, green Erdem gown embroidered with a floral design when she took to The Imitation Game premiere. Accessorising with pointed black stilettos and, of course, her gorgeous fiancé, she absolutely stole the show.
Next she wowed at The Evening Standard Theatre Awards in a red patterned gown. She opted for Erdem on this occasion too. Attending the event with the likes of Sienna Miller, Victoria Beckham and Anna Wintour, Sophie more than proved her fashion credentials as she stood aside some of the world’s most stylish.
But it was last night’s outfit that really sealed the deal for Sophie to become one of our new fave style icons. She took to the British Independent Film Awards in a stunning Emilia Wickstead gown. The leather dress boasted a Peter Pan collar and statement pockets. She paired the look with gold-capped courts and an embellished box clutch. Who knew a leather dress could look so demure?
Sophie has quickly taken the crown for the queen of ladylike dressing and we can’t wait to see what she will pull out of the bag for her next few social events. We will also be hugely anticipating her wedding dress, which will no doubt be one of the ultimate fashion moments of 2015 – if they allow us a sneak peak.
Last night’s event also brought Benedict’s recent co-star, Keira Knightley, along. She plumped for a stylish Simone Rocha number.
