Remember at the weekend when Lewis Hamilton was refused entry to the Royal Box at Wimbledon?
After proudly flaunting his Royal Box tickets on Instagram, the Formula One racer rocked up in a trendy floral shirt, trousers and a hat, only to be turned away by the strict stewards who insisted he wear a jacket and tie. Oops!
‘Due to an unfortunate misunderstanding regarding the dress code at Wimbledon, Lewis is very disappointed to have missed the men’s final’, Lewis’ rep later said in a statement. What a blunder.
But in a sweet turn of events, the All England Club have now responded to the incident by inviting Lewis back to the Box to make up for the embarrassing mis-hap. Aw.
‘We will definitely be asking him back and hopefully it will fit in with his schedule,’ said Richard Lewis, Chief Executive of the All England Club. ‘The problem was that we didn’t have anything on hand appropriate for him to wear in what is a very high profile place.
‘He was apologetic and very polite’, he added. ‘We very much hope that he will be able to come again.’.
As the tennis tournament drew to a close at the weekend, the Royal Box attracted its starriest crowd yet as the A-list gathered to watch the Men’s Singles Final.
First up, Benedict Cumberbatch, who took great pleasure in diving in for a cheeky photobomb whilst Mr and Mrs Bjorn Borg attempted to take a selfie in the row infront. Oh, Sherlock…
Also sitting nearby was a newly-single Bradley Cooper, looking handsome in a white jacket, shirt and tie, all topped off with a pair of dark shades, and Hugh Grant and Anna Elisabet Eberstein, the mother of his third child.
And we have to say, Anna pretty much had the best seats in the house… Benedict, Bradley and Hugh all as your Royal Box neighbours? It’s alright for some.
Last week also saw a whole host of stars turning up to watch the tennis, with, David Beckham and his 12-year-old son Romeo looking super-smart in matching blue blazers and white shirts.
The pair seemed to have a great time bonding during their outing, with David, 40, writing on Facebook: ‘Wimbledon day with my little man.’ Nawww.
He was seen placing his arm around Romeo’s shoulders as they made their way into the stands.
There were also a few parents-to-be at the event. Katherine Jenkins – who announced her pregnancy in April – covered her blossoming stomach in blue as she sat with her husband Andrew Levitas.
Future mama Tamsin Egerton arrived with her partner Josh Hartnett. Is that a teeny bump we can see under your printed mini, Tam?! So glowing.
Unfortunately, not everyone appeared to be having such a great time at the tennis tournament.
Drake was seen looking very miserable as he caught a game. In fact, he managed to inspire even more ‘Sad Drake’ memes. Lolz.
The rapper is known for his moody-looking face and fans have been collecting images of his best grumpy expressions over the past few months.
But wait… what’s this?! It’s Drake smiling!
Yep. It seems even he couldn’t escape Wimbledon’s relaxed vibe.
Meanwhile, Ellie Goulding turned up to catch some Centre Court action in a cool 60s-inspired outfit. We love this A-line skirt and halterneck combo.
On Tuesday, Lucy Mecklenburgh unveiled her incredible tan in a white Bardot top and full shimmery skirt. Her hair had been teased into tousled waves and her feet looked pretty in nude heels.
She’d been joined by her boyfriend Louis Smith, who was suave in a waistcoat and white trousers.
Showing just how loved-up they are, a smitten Lucy, 23, couldn’t help cuddling her other half while they posed for photos at the entrance. Adorbs!
Pippa Middleton perfected summer chic in a mint green floral number when she watched Roger Federer play on Monday.
She’d kept her look simple by accessorising with elegant jewellery and a Kate-inspired blow-dry.
Then there was Chrissy Teigen and John Legend. The couple seemed super-happy to have touched down in the UK, with Chrissy captioning an Instagram shot: ‘Venus VS Serena! Can’t believe I finally get to watch this. Bucket list!’
Yep. That is pretty cool, Chrissy.
Made In Chelsea‘s Spencer Matthews was joined by a special guest – his mum Jane. And isn’t she just beautiful?!
Love how you matched your jacket to the court, Spenny.
Millie Mackintosh looked ah-mazing when she arrived at the tournament last week. She’d paired a pretty printed dress from Maje with elegant Gemporia jewellery.
The 25-year-old captioned an Instagram photo of herself: ‘Having a lovely Monday afternoon at Wimbledon wearing my @Gemporia gemstone jewellery and @majeofficiel. Glam team @hershesons @vickyhannamakeup.’
She was working nude lipstick, a sweep of bronzer and subtle eye make-up. Just gorgeous.
Blogger Tanya Burr and her fiancé Jim Chapman made a *very* smart couple when they rocked up to Ralph Lauren’s Wimbledon cocktail party.
Tanya, 26, had co-ordinated her 50s-style blue midi skirt with Jim’s dapper shirt and tie. Clearly big tennis buffs, they were spotted enjoying themselves in the crowd a few days later.
Other celebrity couples who’ve been snapped at Wimbledon include Tess Daly and Vernon Kay and Emma and Matt Willis.
Made In Chelsea pals Stevie Johnson and Sam Thompson watched a match together while This Morning‘s Matt Johnson met up with TV presenter Zoe Hardman backstage.
Laura Whitmore hooked up with Humans actress Gemma Chan for her trip to Wimbledon.
Gemma, 32, looked lovely in a patterned black shift while 30-year-old Laura nailed the 70s trend in a floaty blue top. Hilariously, they were photobombed by One Direction’s Niall Horan in one of their selfies.
Margot Robbie hasn’t actually been to Wimbledon, but she deserves a special mention for *this* typically British Instagram snap. The 24-year-old wrote alongside the image: ‘Pimms in the park.’
And she was in the UK at the time. So it kinda counts?!
Finally, we can’t forget Kim Sears. Andy Murray’s wife has been as dedicated as always, attentively watching her hubby’s games from the stands.
She’s also kept up her AH-mazing hair routine. How does she manage to get that blow-dry looking so glossy and bouncy EVERY time we see her?
