After months of speculation, Burberry have finally let the cat out of the bag and announced Sienna Miller and her beau Tom Sturridge as the stars of their AW13 campaign. Rumours fist began when the couple worked head-to-toe Burberry at both the opening night of Sturridge’s Broadway play Orphans and the Met Ball, where Sienna nailed the punk theme in studded Burberry biker and spiked hairband.
The campaign, dubbed ‘A British Love Story’, continues the Brit brands ‘couples concept’ with Sienna and Tom following in the footsteps of Cara Delevingne and Eddie Redmayne and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Sam RIley. Shot by longtime Burberry snapper Mario Testino, the chic black and white shots show the new parents – Sienna gave birth to daughter Marlowe last year – kissing behing a leopard print clutch bag and cosying up together with Tom’s hand on Sienna’s leather skirt-clad bottom. Burberry Chief Creative Officer Christopher Bailey described it as “A shoot full of love and laughter”, and it’s easy to see that they really are just two very beautiful people very much in love. Sigh.
Posing for Burberry marks a return to the spotlight for Sienna, who partied with pals Cara and Poppy Delevingne at Glastonbury festival this weekend. After receiving a Golden Globe nomination for her turn as Tippi Hedren in Hitchcock film The Girl, she’s been tipped for awards season success for her upcoming movie Foxcatcher, and being a Burberry poster girl is sure to give her already ultra stylish CV a big boost.
