Ossie Clark London has produced a vibrant collection of retro-inspired maxi dresses as part of the SS14 collection, and we want them all!
As the pioneering maxi maestro, designer Ossie Clark had his heyday in the ‘60s and ‘70s, when he became famous for his revolutionary pattern cutting and feminine silhouettes. His original designs are coveted gems in vintage shops around the world, often selling for anything from £400-£4,000.
Don’t panic – the current collection is entirely more affordable, with the must-have maxis ranging between £99-£149, making them investment pieces which will surely become summer staples. Classic elements of Ossie’s signature pattern cutting can be seen in the chiffon-frilled sleeves, panelled waists and halter-neck styles, while there is delicate beading and nostalgic floral prints to add vintage appeal.
The best bit? You can wear your maxi for day or night – just dress down with simple sandals or glam up with wedge heels. With avid Ossie Clark fans including Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell, that’s all the high-fash endorsement we need…
