High street hotspot River Island announced just yesterday that it would be launching a collection with London Fashion Week heavyweight Sibling. The range will be released during fashion week in February and will be on sale from just £15. Yes, you read that right, £15!
The ‘Pretty In Pink’ collection will drop on February 22nd, 2016 and takes inspiration not only from Sibling’s main line – staple knits, sequins and denim particularly – but from Brigitte Bardot’s style as well as Ellen Von Unwerth’s photography. This will result in plenty of pink checked denim, ditsy florals and glitter knits.
One of the designers behind Sibling, Cozette McCreery, told British Vogue why they thought River Island would be the right fit:
“With any of our collaborations it always starts with the question: is this a good fit for the brand and the answer was a resounding yes! Both Sid and I love River Island’s own product especially the level of quality and design. Also their list of previous collaborators: hello Rihanna! It was quite an honour to be asked really.”
The range will drop alongside the release of a fashion film during London Fashion Week as part of River Island’s Design Forum.
While we’ll have to wait until February to get our hands on the collection, if these drawings are anything to go by, we’re in for a real treat.
