Well, that was quite a performance from Katy Perry, wasn’t it?
In case you hadn’t noticed, it was the US Super Bowl last night. And the 30-year-old songstress was the main headliner at the celeb-studded sporting event.
Taking to the stage at half-time working a hot leather two-piece with flames running up it designed by fashion pal Jeremy Scott, Katy looked ready to rock as she swirled her slicked-back ponytail in the air and got down with co-performer Lenny Kravitz.
Next came a quick outfit change, with Katy returning to the stage in a seriously sparkly floor-length star print gown for her powerful Firework performance, a slick of bright coral lippy finishing off her look.
Our favourite moment then followed when ’90s hip-hop legend Missy Elliot appeared on stage to perform with Katy (YES!), who was working a Moschino zip-up jacket dress with diamond studds and her name emblazoned across the back. Oh, and silver sequin booties. Ah-mazing.
During the interval, the US star performanced a mash-up of her greatest hits, with giant tigers, sharks, exploding pyrotechnics and back-up dancers dressed as chess pieces joining her for her Super Bowl spectacular.
And what better way to end such a night than to go and get a special tribute tattoo to mark the occasion?
‘I thought it would be appropriate to draw blood tonight… XLIX’, Katy captioned an Instagram snap of her getting the Latin numeral for 49, marking the 49th Super Bowl, tattooed onto her finger.
Nice finale, Ms P.
