His sons may have been making a storm in the modelling world recently, but David certainly isn’t ready to give up his crown just yet. Showing the world he has still got it, the campaign for David’s ‘Modern Essentials selected by David Beckham’ Autumn 2015 collection has just been revealed – with David looking no less than his best, of course.
But this is no normal campaign. Alongside comedian and actor Kevin Hart, the video sees Hart as a method actor preparing to take on the role of Beckham.
Speaking of the idea behind the campaign, David added: “Kevin Hart is one of the funniest, smartest guys around. I love to do the unexpected for my H&M campaigns. I hope everyone enjoys watch it as much as I did making it.” And we sure did, David!
As for the collection, key wardrobe essentials with a hint of Beckham cool make for one of the hottest high street collabs we’ve seen of menswear, and judging by the success of his debut collection and campaign for the brand, we’re predicting a similarly short shelf-life.
In a series of images shot by famous film director Marc Foster for the first collection, David modelled his favourite picks with the idea being his “dream spring wardrobe”. He explained; “I am thrilled to continue and extend my collaboration with H&M by selecting my favourite pieces from this spring’s Modern Essentials collection. Each piece is a new wardrobe classic that will update every man’s spring wardrobe with great style. Marc Forster is one of my favourite directors – I can’t wait to reveal the new campaign with H&M.”
The Spring 2015 collection featured crisp white shirts, trendy polo shirts and even some pink-hued trousers.
All in all, if men are going to take fashion advice from anyone, it really should be David Beckham. Known for his seriously swish style, David has been a style icon for many years now while his with H&M takes his style credentials to the next level (and we’re not just talking fashion – who can forget those underwear shorts he modelled for the brand’s intimates range).
We just can’t help but wonder what’s next for David – is he perhaps going to lay his hand to design? We’d love to see that happen, especially if he got wife Victoria to give him some pointers.
And so the Beckham fashion domination continues…
