Sarah Jessica Parker Just Made Brides-To-Be Very Happy

Listen up brides-to-be! Your wedding footwear prayers have been answered because Sarah Jessica Parker has just announced that she’s expanding her eponymous SJP Collection line to include a special range of satin heels for brides. And, you guessed it – the actress-turned-designer isn’t offering just your average run of the mill heels.

On her own wedding day she opted for shoes in teal green velvet so the new capsule collection offers a whole selection of non-traditional colours from pale green through to a plush plum tone. She’s even created a bright blue style not dissimilar to the Manolo Blahnik pair she wore to finally married Big in the first Sex and the City movie.

Fans of the legendary shoe designer will be pleased to see that SJP has taken a leaf out of his book, adorning many of the shoes with the kind of statement jewels Manolo has become known for. And don’t worry; if you don’t fancy stomping around in killer heels on your big day, SJP has thought about too, offering pairs in varying heights.

The new collection is perfect if you’re after an alternative to the average bridal shoes out there right now. While that was her intention, the actress admits that if she could go back and have her wedding day to hubby Matthew Broderick again, she probably wouldn’t have gone so far from tradition with the black dress she chose. “If I were getting married today, I’d likely wear cream, just to have that bridal experience,” she told Martha Stewart Weddings. “Now I would want my dress to have an Oscar de la Renta feel, pockets below the waist, a very fitted bodice, a huge skirt, in taffeta or duchesse satin. That silhouette appeals to me because it’s old-fashioned yet can look very modern.” All she needs to do is add dresses to her growing fashion empire and all of our wedding woes would be sorted!
