The Harry Potter films might seem like a lifetime ago, but apparently Ron Weasley aka Rupert Grint hasn’t put his wizardry skills to rest just yet.
Okay, it’s not exactly magic, but that’s exactly what Matthew Lewis (otherwise known as Neville Longbottom) suspected when he noticed a suspiciously large bill racking up at his favourite restaurant.
Little did he know, Rupert had actually been putting his food on Matthew’s tab. LOL.
Matthew tweeted: “I just learned that Rupert Grint has been going to my favourite restaurant for months and putting his food on my tab. Brill… @RedsTrueBBQ”.
So how on earth did Rupert get away with such mischief?
The lovely Phil and Holly at This Morning did some digging for us…
“I saw Rupert for the first time in a few years and we were in Orlando together and he told me he had been going to this restaurant,” Matthew explained.
“I said: ‘That’s one of my favourite restaurants’, and he’s like ‘I know’, and I said, ‘How would you know that?’ and he said, ‘That’s because I’ve been putting all my food on your tab for several months!’ Apparently when the manager came in, he goes ‘Oh, you’re Matthew’s friend’, and he said ‘Yeah! Is Matthew picking this up?’, and the manager agreed! It could have gone on forever – I would never have known!”
Hats off to Rups, we’re not sure we could carry off such a prank without giving it away…
Meanwhile, Matt’s been getting into character for his role in new BBC series Happy Valley, and there’s a new feature to his look that not everyone is a fan of: his moustache.
“Funnily enough… Nobody comes near me with this. It’s quite the repellent!”
N’aww, we still love you Matt!
