Rosie Fortescue is one of Made in Chelsea’s most stylish stars. A regular on the FROW at fashion week, Rosie documents her fashionable life via her popular blog and is even designing her own jewellery range. And for Autumn the star has teamed up with fashion site Zalando to create three looks for three occasions using their huge range of brands.
To mark their collaboration we caught up with Rosie to chat about her favourite trends for autumn, style inspo and autumn mini breaks…
How would you describe your style?
I would say that my style is tailored and I would hope to say chic! I am a HUGE fan of accessories, you will never see me leave the house without either lots of jewellery, a statement bag, sunglasses or a hat!
Where do you find style inspiration?
I generally dress each morning to how I feel when I wake up. My mood of the day is what inspires me. Sometimes I am uber feminine, and sometimes more masculine. I love getting dressed every morning, as each day can be totally different.
What trends and items are you excited about this Autumn/winter season?
As always hats are a huge trend. A great fedora is a must have in anyone’s wardrobe. Lace is a trend that I just can’t get enough of. Whether it’s a pale pink colour, or darker berry tones, the texture of the fabric inspires me.
What is your must-have this autumn/winter?
Statement clutch bags. They are the perfect transition from day-to-night and can completely perfect an outfit.
What is your favourite thing about autumn?
Wrapping up and wearing coats. As much as I love the warmer weather in summer, I am a winter girl at heart. There’s nothing better than layering and you can wear so much more, showing off different style and accessories.
We heard that you’re into art. Are there any upcoming exhibitions you’ve got on your radar?
I actually just bought an incredible piece from Antony Cairns. It’s a photograph printed on aluminium. I was introduced to his work as an up and coming artist that I should keep an eye on. He is going to be showing in the Tate soon, so that’s an exhibition that I will be sure not to miss.
Is there a place that you love to go to in autumn? Or a favourite mini break location when the weather is cooling down?
I am desperate to go to Soho House in Istanbul. I am normally so busy that I can’t have long, extended holidays so I am trying my best to find a time to fit in a weekend away.
What’s different about Zalando? What makes it stand out?
Zalando sells every brand I love, but the selection of items are just perfect. There’s nothing worse than trawling through all of your favourite websites, so why not have everything that you love in one place! I get inspired by different brands, and mixing and matching, which I adore.
Rosie’s 3 Autumn Outfits…
Date Night: Lilac lace dress and red clutch and shoes
This outfit it super feminine and how I feel most at ease as a woman. A dress can completely change the way that you feel and the way that you hold yourself. This would be the perfect date night outfit and is not only sexy, but also comfortable. I have teamed it with red heels and the statement lips clutch that makes you look effortlessly cool. Nothing worse than looking like you have put in too much effort for a date or even for an event!
Girls Night: Skirt, cropped top and coat
This outfit is how I feel most comfortable. A skirt and top combo combined with a coat worn over the shoulders is such a versatile look. You can wear the coat covering your full outfit in the day, and take it off for drinks in the evening. It’s effortlessly cool and words can’t describe the love that I have for this clutch bag that transforms the outfit. A statement piece like these clutch and killer black heels are what perfects this look. I can’t wait to wear this for a girls night out.
Daytime: Jeans and blazer
When I dress casually I never actually dress that casually. For me this outfit is the perfect daytime look. Whether you are going to a meeting, lunch with your parents or drinks after work, this outfit is an essential in your wardrobe. I am wearing it with these beautiful delicate heels, but biker boots would really make it casual. I was inspired by the jeans which add a great texture and edge to the look. I find it hard to steer clear of black jeans but these really are a winner.
