Ah, the 90s. That magical decade that saw us all tending to our Tamagotchi pets, slapping jewellery onto our wrists and requesting The Rachel in the hairdressers. Jelly shoes were the stuff of dreams, we grooved to the Spice Girls and we counted Pogs as a hobby. What else happened in the 90s? We got our first pair of Rocket Dogs.

Unfortunately, Instagram wasn’t A Thing back in those heady days. If it had been, we would have posted a pic of our RD’s before you could say ‘hashtag’. Why? Because they were super cool. And because our feet had never known comfort like it. We could wax lyrical about this all day.

We won’t. Instead we’ll fill you in on the Rocket Dog renaissance, which has been brought to our attention on- yep, you guessed it- Instagram. We’ve clocked big-time bloggers like The Frugality, Bang On Style and Tiny Twisst showing off their RD kicks. Cue the 90s nostalgia, and a sudden yearning for these trainers.

Bang On Style’s Debs opted for RD’s kicks in dusty pink

They’re exactly the kind of kicks we love, too. All chunky sole and round-toe, in an array of colours to choose from. Whether you go grey, pick pink or want white, it’ll be music to your ears to hear that these Insta-approved shoes are also under £40. That’s news enough to encourage a multi-buy.

Laura from Tiny Twisst made us want the grey trainers, too

Obviously, these footwear friends are crying out to accompany your best denim wares, be those boyfriend jeans, skinnies or even shorts. But we’ll also be wearing ours with summer frocks and playsuits.

We’d suggest you get in quick before they’re gone; every style maven worth her salt is going to be gunning for these. It’s not hard to see why, though. You can relive one of your favourite fashion moments without the horror of your 90s hair, or the embarrassment of having to leave social situations early, and at a moment’s notice, purely to feed your virtual pet. Oh, the 90s.
