Rihanna has pulled out of performing at the BRITs tonight, it’s been confirmed.
Just when we were gearing up to watch the FourFive Seconds singer storming the stage in no doubt another daring look-at-me outfit at the music ceremony of the year, it’s been announced that Kanye West will be taking her place instead.
‘BRIT bosses were understandably disappointed that Rihanna was a no-show, but – after some initial panic – they’re delighted to have found a solution in Kanye’, a source told Mail Online. ‘In fact, they know he’s a huge star and won’t simply just fill her shoes – but he’ll own the stage and stun fans with one of the biggest performances of the year.’
After the Bajan beauty was a no-show at her BRIT rehearsal on Monday, we feared the worse. And now it’s been confirmed, we’re sadder than ever that we won’t be seeing our favourite sassy songstress doing her thing in front of the celeb-packed audience.
‘BRITS bosses have wanted to get Rihanna for a long time, but they’ve been waiting for an answer’, an insider told The Sun last week. ‘She has been finalising her album plans and wanted to get the Grammys out of the way before confirming a second performance.’
The last time RiRi took to the BRIT Awards stage was back in 2012. when a blonde Rihanna sashayed onto the red carpet in a sequined Givenchy gown before performing We Found Love in a paint-splattered jumper and white shorts.
Let’s hope Kanye can fill her talented boots!
