Denim is one of the hottest trends for spring/summer 2015 right now, so it was no surprise to see Rihanna herself step out in a custom made Dior denim skater dress as she sat FROW-side at the label’s autumn/winter 2015 show in Tokyo.
The custom-made dress, designed personally by Dior’s creative director Raf Simons, fitted the singer’s silhouette perfectly, showcasing her quirky style with its oversized pockets and flippy flared skirt – we particularly love the floral embellishment added to the side.
RiRi accessorised with the label’s Resort 2016 collection, opting to add a pair of pointed 70s-inspired lace-up boots and a colourful shoulder bag – which she carried as a clutch.
Joining Dior’s CEO Sidney Toledano as their VIP guest at the event, which was held at the National Art Centre in Tokyo, the 27-year-old smiled as she posed for pics with paparazzi – and comes just weeks after Rihanna was announced as the brand’s face of their Secret Garden IV campaign.
The major campaign coup came after years of loyal (fashion) service to the brand, where she follows in the footsteps of stars such as Jennifer Lawrence and Natalie Portman.
Dior’s spectacular in Tokyo was in fact a re-staging of its AW15 collection, having already shown it during Paris Fashion Week. Not that we’re complaining; the dreamy new offering is well worth a second look.
And clearly, Rihanna agrees…
