It’s an emotional day for Fearne Cotton.
After almost 10 years as a BBC Radio 1 presenter, the pregnant star has hung up her broadcasting socks and recorded her final ever show *sobs*.
But Fearne made sure she left in style, wearing a super-chic dress for her last trip to the studio.
Fearne had pre-warned us that her outfit would make a statement, Tweeting this morning: ‘My son just looked at my rather over the top dress I’m wearing today and said ” mummy princess” Tears have started before I leave the house.’
And we totally agree that she looked princess-like in the shimmery loose-fitting maxi, which perfectly flattered her blossoming baby bump.
Fearne, 33, let her frock do all the talking by pairing it with a pair of patent black shoes and a simple tote.
This wasn’t the first time Fearne had impressed with her maternity wardrobe in recent days. In fact, she’s worn a pretty cool variety of ensembles over the past week.
On Tuesday, she managed to successfully combine a sequin top and a black blazer with a pair of baggy jeans, socks and sneakers.
She sported a summery black maxi and denim jacket combo on Wednesday and yesterday stepped out in a floaty patterned cami and a furry leopard-print coat.
Fearne – who’s already mum to son Rex, 2 – is expecting her second child with husband Jesse Wood. She’s said she’s leaving Radio 1 to focus on ‘family and new adventures’.
Despite everyone feeling very emotional, current and past colleagues ensured she got a *very* special send-off.
DJs including Greg James, Jo Whiley and Reggie Yates sent her sweet Twitter messages and throwback photos of them working together.
Even the official Radio 1 page got in on the action, captioning a hilarious snap of Fearne with her BFF Holly Willoughby: ‘Oooh, look at what we found! Here’s a pic of @hollywills & Fearne, 10 years ago, just before Fearne joined Radio 1.’ Lolz.
She’s also received Tweets from musicians including Olly Murs, Enter Shikari, The Vamps, Little Mix and Biffy Clyro, while both Holly, 34, and her Celebrity Juice co-star Keith Lemon visited her on air.
Foo Fighters frontman said in a phone message: ‘It’s one thing to be a wonderful voice on the radio, someone that has that kind of timing and sophistication and humour and knowledge – but then also to be the most beautiful woman in the world.’
Amazing. Good luck, Fearne!
