Poppy Delevingne rewrote the fashion rulebook last night as she paired her gorgeous Valentino frock with plain white trainers. Proving that your sneaks shouldn’t be limited to your daytime looks, Poppy looked incredible in her floral maxi dress and relaxed shoes – making us totally rethink out night-out shoe-drobes.
Taking to a Tiffany & Co event in London, Ms Delevingne tapped into her usual boho style, rocking a mega-pleated maxi dress, with her gorgeous Mulberry cross-body bag which finished off her look to perfection.
Plumping to wear effortless lace-ups rather than sky-high heels is certainly a celebrity trend we are appreciating. Imagine dancing away all night long at a swanky event and not leaving with sore feet. They are the comfortable girl’s dream, and boy do they look amazing.
Poppy isn’t the only celeb to have rocked trainers with a fancy frock. Kendall Jenner wore a gorgeous sparkly nude evening gown with a very comfy-looking pair of black and white trainers back in March during Paris Fashion Week – and we loved it.
The evening-frock-and-trainer combo is yet another trend to add to the flat shoe debate, which has been garnering lots of headlines this year. We’re sure you remember when Cannes made their no-flats rule just a few months ago, causing a serious backlash on Twitter about how women shouldn’t be forced to wear heels at these swanky events.
Supermodels like Karlie Kloss have been rocking ballet pumps to red carpets for years, but this trainer revolution is officially our new favourite trend!
Will you be getting on board the trend and rocking the humble trainer to your next fancy do? We think we might just have to.
