If there’s one model grabbing New York Fashion Week by the horns, it’s Peyton Knight. Yep, the 17-year-old IMG model was actually scouted at the age of 11 (whilst watching Twilight at the cinema with her Mum, FYI), but only made her first major catwalk debut this season. And major it certainly was; Miss Knight walked for none other than American fashion designer Alexander Wang.
Of receiving the good news, she told Fashionista: “Well, I got called back a couple of times to do a mini run through for Alex himself. Then my agent called me the morning after he found out that I had booked the job. He called me into the agency and said, ‘You confirmed it last night. I didn’t want to freak you out and I wanted you to be able to sleep. You made it.’ I started crying, honestly.” Aww.

Along with her perfectly chiselled features, striking retro bowl cut (by long-time Wang hairstylist Guido Palau, obvs) and petite silhouette, it’s not hard to see why Wang was quick to snap her up – but he wasn’t the only one. Peyton also took to the runway for the finale of Victoria Beckham’s SS16 New York Fashion Week show yesterday, sporting a zip-up graphic effect jacket and matching skirt.
To show her appreciation for the opportunity, she posted a snap of herself and the British designer on Instagram with the caption: “An enormous thanks to #VictoriaBeckham for having me close her sensational #SS16 #NYFW show. Thank you @victoriabeckham @patmcgrathreal @guidopalau #JoeMcKenna #RussellMarsh.”
Victoria then returned the favour, sharing the same photo on Instagram with the caption: “Thank u @peyton.knight for closing my show x vb #VBSS16.”
We reckon that’s a pretty good sign that Peyton’s here to stay, wouldn’t you? Watch this space.
