The Little Mix ladies have penned the sweetest message after Perrie Edwards broke down on stage yesterday.
Perrie, 22, has appeared remarkably strong since confirming her split from fiancé Zayn Malik. But she couldn’t help getting a little overwhelmed during a livestream gig to celebrate the band’s four-year anniversary.
The girls were performing new Get Weird album track The End, which features lyrics that may have hit home regarding the demise of her relationship.
As she sang the line: ‘No one can love you the way I used to do’ during their acapella version, she broke down in tears. Oh Pezza :(.
But her bandmates were on hand to provide cuddles and support – as were the crowd, who shouted out: ‘We love you Perrie.’
And d’ya know what? After acting so professional over the past few days, we think it’s totally acceptable that Perrie has shown a bit of emotion. She IS human, guys.
After the performance, LM poignantly captioned an Instagram photo of their group hug: ‘#4YearsOfLittleMix wow what an incredible day we have had..
‘4 girls, 4 years and each year we get a little stronger. We cannot tell you how important our friendship/sisterhood is to us, we have been through so much together and generally love each other more than anything.
‘May Little Mix last forever, coz we’ll tell you something, we dno what we would do without each other.
‘Thank you to our beautiful mixers for sharing this special day with us, without you we wouldn’t even be here! You are the reason we do what we do! Love always! Your girls.’
We’re welling up a bit here…
Despite having so much support from her bandmates, there is someone else who Perrie could do with a snuggle from – her dog Hatchi.
She and her bandmates are currently travelling around America promoting their single Black Magic, so she hasn’t seen the adorable pooch for quite a while.
She wrote alongside an Instagram image of herself and Hatchi yesterday: ‘Missing my hatchi ever so much! #CubbyBabyFace.’ Awww.
But LM (and Hatchi) aren’t the only ones who’ve got Perrie’s back.
Little Mix have *officially* joined forces with Zayn’s old band One Direction. And we can see why, considering they’ve both been dumped by the Bradford bad boy.
It’s thought that it was Zayn who ended his and Perrie’s engagement earlier this month and it was his decision to quit 1D back in March.
Now Pezza’s group and Zayn’s old bandmates are both set to play the Apple Music Festival in London next month. Even more interestingly, LM will be supporting their fellow X Factor alums.
So the Perrie vs Zayn saga continues. EEK. Since they went their separate ways, we think it’s pretty safe to say that things are a little tense between them.
Adding to the belief that it was Zayn who broke things off, Perrie’s Little Mix bandmates have thrown him some serious shade over the past few days.
Jade Thirlwall was first seen holding a fan’s sign which read: ‘Zayn is irrelevant anyway’, before Jesy Nelson made a fairly obvious dig during a performance of Black Magic.
When an apt lyric about showing an ex what they’re missing cropped up during the song, Jesy pointed towards Perrie. Pezza then grinned back as the crowd cheered. Oosh.
But Zayn hasn’t been afraid to get his own back. On Friday, he re-Tweeted a message that read: ‘Which is the better single? Retweet – ‘Worth It’ by Fifth Harmony. Favorite – ‘Black Magic’ by Little Mix.’
Yes, you read that right. RE-TWEETED. Ouch.
But Pezza and co didn’t seem too fazed by the burn when they performed at the Teen Choice Awards in LA on Sunday.
They made a *major* deal of their performance, which involved pyrotechnics, special effects and a wardrobe change. Ooh.
The ladies started off as schoolgirls in a classroom before changing into more LM-style outfits. Perrie looked ah-mazing in a diamond-studded white crop top and matching tutu.
Just LOOK at those abs. Revenge body much?!
But that wasn’t the only thing that LM impressed with at the ceremony. They also picked up their very own surfboard after winning the Choice Music Breakout Artist category.
To accept the accolade, Pezza stunned in another saucy stomach-baring ensemble. This time, she paired a white fringed midi with a strappy multicoloured top.
She later wrote on Instagram: ‘I never thought my love for these girls could get any stronger… But everyday my love for them grows & grows! #SisterHood #Love Perrie
It’s actually been a pretty big weekend for Little Mix.
On Saturday night, they *officially* became members of Taylor Swift‘s squad when they joined her on stage during her 1989 tour gig in Santa Clara.
It sounds like Taylor may have joined in on the Zayn-shading when she described LM to the crowd with the words: ‘They are strong, they are beautiful and they have each other’s backs.’
We think this one may go on and on…
