So we’re about to drop some pretty great news. Boohoo.com, purveyor of all things on trend and covetable, have teamed up with the American blogger and model Nadia Aboulhosn to launch their autumn/winter BoohooPLUS 2014 capsule collection. With Nadia having 54,000 followers on Instagram, as well as appearances in numerous campaigns, it’s a pretty big coup for the brand. But what about the clothes?
Fear not, you can expect all the usual glamour and high fash. We’re particularly loving the shaggy furs and super-cute owl jumpers, but there’s plenty more too.
And with prices from a mere £12, it’s a price your wallet will be grateful for. We caught up with Nadia to find out how she feels about the collab…
How did it feel to be asked to edit and model the new Plus Size Collection for Boohoo.com?
It was definitely an honour. I wouldn’t have wanted it to be anyone else. They are really fashion forward and it’s inspiring.
Were you already a fan of the brand?
Absolutely. I’ve been wearing Boohoo for over three years now. I first saw their pieces in a showroom and without even knowing who they were, I ran over to the racks insisting that I needed almost all of their pieces.
What do you think is the secret to your blogging success?
I’m very relatable. A lot of people try to over glamourise their lives and I make it a point to show people my life isn’t all glamorous like people imagine blogger/models lives to be. I’m just a normal person chasing my passions and I think my followers get inspired from that, knowing it’s a journey to get where you want to be.
How do you think plus size high street fashion has changed in recent years?
I think it’s changed drastically. Plus size fashion use to be unflattering generic pieces for older women. Now, there are so many pieces to choose that are actually fashionable and on trend.
Tell us what it was like to star in the shoot for Boohoo. Was it fun being beautified in hair and make-up?
It’s always fun getting hair and make up done. The Boohoo team feels like a second family to me so it’s always great being around them. They’ve come so far in just three years and every season they show us how creative their team is and I’m really proud to be a part of that.
You look so confident modelling on your blog, what are your tips for body confidence?
Block everyone else’s opinions about you out. Focus on how you feel about you. At a very young age I learned how other people felt about me isn’t my business and it’s really helped with my confidence. Focus on what you like rather than what you don’t like about yourself. I think it’s in our nature to focus on the negative so I try to avoid that and think about the positive.
What is your favourite piece from the collection and how would you style it?
My favorite piece from the collection is the two piece snake print set. I’m really into snake print and especially sets.
Is there one key look or outfit you think epitomises Plus Size women’s style?
Not at all. I think plus women’s style varies on the individual. You can wear and pull off whatever you think you can.
What AW14 trends are you excited to work?
All white looks. I’m also excited for metallics.
Finally, what tips can you offer our (plus size) readers for looking fabulous this autumn?
Tailoring! Tailoring is a must to really show off your best features. Also have fun mixing textures and prints. It’s always interesting seeing what people can pull off by stepping outside of their comfort zones.
