You know it’s officially the countdown to Christmas when you see your first festive TV ad. The big chain department stores and supermarkets bring us some of the most imaginative offerings in the run up to crimbo but first up this year it’s luxury bag designer, Mulberry.
Maybe it’s the clever idea of a tongue-in-cheek take on the nativity story, or perhaps it’s just the gorgeous arm candy that plays the starring role. Who cares, this is already setting the bar pretty high in the war of the best Xmas ads.
The stylish bag retailer, who counts the likes of Alexa Chung, Blake Lively and Kate Bosworth as fans, has pulled out all the stops in it’s comical yet heartwarming marketing campaign.
The luxury designer pays homage to the traditional nativity story, featuring the famous Bayswater bag in a festive scarlet shade as the main attraction. We practically swooned when we spotted it.
The mini film begins with a cute lad gifting his girlfriend with the gorgeous red leather tote on Xmas eve – jel! A string of unexpected visitors soon arrive to marvel at the beautiful carry-all, including ‘three wise men’, a farmer and a shepherd.
The modern day take on the Christmas story is intended “to bring a smile to everyone’s face and dramatise the pleasure of giving a Mulberry at Christmas”
One thing’s for sure if we had a Mulberry Bayswater waiting under the tree for us there would certainly be a smile on our faces.
