Fancy some could-be designer threads on the high street? Say hello to Monsoon’s new super cool collaboration with The Royal College Of Art.
The collaboration sees Monsoon supporting emerging talent by sponsoring students set for fashion designer stardom to create an exclusive collection for them. Supporting the initiative for the past 3 years now, Monsoon were expecting some pretty amazing things from this year’s candidates – and we’re pretty sure they weren’t disappointed.
Coming out on top this time around were two post graduate students, Print & Textile Designer Lucy Rainbow and Womenswear Designer Rebecca Stant – nice work, ladies! The trendy twosome teamed up to create a stylish but wearable daywear collection using traditional Indian artisan techniques. The result? An ah-mazing range of print-tastic pretties that we can’t wait to get our fashion mitts on.
The design duo endeavoured to work sustainably using natural dyes and block prints – another style tick from us – to create a collection inspired by the vibrancy of India. Silk shell tops, textured trousers, printed frocks and a colour palette of red, navy and hints of sunshine yellow make for a super stylish range that’s perfect for nailing the mis-matched print trend.
We’ll be pairing the monochrome daisy print dress with the red shadow print jacket for a fashion forward look that’ll score plenty of style points, while the daisy print shirt dress is our new go-to for tricky transitional weather – just wear with a trench and peep-toe ankle booties.
The collection will be available in stores nationwide and online from 4th May – form an orderly queue, ladies!
