Since the very first Despicable Me movie hit the big screens back in 2010, minion-inspired fashion has well and truly reached fever pitch. Yep, from Giles Deacon and Tatty Devine to Rupert Sanderson and Piers Atkinson, some of the industry’s biggest design mavens have joined the yellow army in creating their very own minion capsule collections.
And, as if that wasn’t enough, these accidental style icons have even bagged an exclusive Vogue cover (albeit not a real one). Erm, can someone please tell us where we are going wrong? Now, Stylight have given the (human) fash pack an ah-mazing minion makeover.
First up, Anna Wintour. Obviously. Complete with immaculate bob, iconic shades and chic white ensemble, minion Anna looks every inch the fashionista.
The Godfather of fashion Karl Lagerfeld pulled off the minion look in one equally stylish swoop, donning his perfectly quaffed silver tresses and sparkling black suit.
Alexa Chung was even transformed into a Chanel-carrying, Peter Pan collar-wearing Minion, proving that she really does look good in anything.
Cara Delevingne, Vogue editor Suzy Menkes, Jean Paul Gaultier, Vivienne Westwood, Marc Jacobs and Donatella Versace are others lucky enough to have been recruited as members of the ‘minionista’ gang – of course, with not one blue uniform in site. We just can’t wait to see who will be given the minion-over next..
The wait is up! Stylight has just revealed the next batch of fashionistas to be given a minion-over. Victoria Beckham, Iris Apfel and Choupette Lagerfeld are just one third of the chosen ones, making for some seriously hilarious illustrations. Just check out Anna Dello Russo’s iconic cherry alice band, and Choupette’s oversized specs! We really don’t know who to expect next..
