Maya Thurman-Hawke: Our New One To Watch

Maya Thurman-Hawke. Come on. Are we surprised?

When two stars as beautiful as Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke decide to get married and muddle together their enviable genes, the results were always going to be impressive.

And here we are. The 16-year-old looked every bit as elegant as her legendary mother, walking the CDFA red carpet last night like she was born to own every inch of it. And with cheekbones like that, who wouldn’t?

Wearing a floaty floor-length embroidered Zac Posen dress, Maya twirled for the cameras before joining the likes of Kim Kardashian and Victoria Beckham at the glitzy New York ceremony.

And much like Lily-Rose Depp’s red carpet debut at the star-studded Chanel Metiers d’Art event a couple months ago, Maya made sure that all eyes of the fashion world were trained firmly on her. What is it with those double-barrelled names?

Looking spookily similar to Kill Bill actress Uma, Maya wore her blonde hair loose and tousled with her cheeks rosily flushed – every inch the excitable teenage starlet making her celebrity entrance.

And being a bona fide A-List Hollywood teen, it seems, also secures you some pretty impressive patronage. Rumours have surfaced suggesting that Lost In Translation director Sofia Coppola has exited the much anticipated film adaptation of The Little Mermaid because the studio disagreed with her wanting to cast Maya in the title role.

And being that Sofia has championed some pretty amazing actresses in her career including Kirsten Dunst and Scarlett Johansson, to have someone with her eye for quality fight your professional corner is a sure-fire way to get those casting agents calling.

So watch this space. It appears that we are being inundated with a new crop of beautiful A-List teens keen to follow in their parents’ footsteps. And Maya Thurman-Hawke is already well on her way…
