The Cannes Film Festival kicked off last night. And no one stole the show like Lupita Nyong’o in her GORGEOUS green Gucci dress.
The 32-year-old 12 Years A Slave actress was positively glowing as she swished her way down the star-studded red carper in her stunning floaty pleated floral creation.
Coming in a striking emerald green hue, Lupita’s custom-made frock featured a plunging neckline with shoulders adorned with pink crystal applique flowers, a thin silk waist belt, floaty cap sleeves and a show-stopping flowing chiffon skirt that was made for twirling.
The star, who is set to feature in the new Star Wars film, added a dual beaded headband and emerald green heels to complete her fairy garden-themed look, and basically won at everything.
‘It’s #GrasshopperGreen for @festivaldecannes opening night. Thank you @Chopard @Gucci and Uganda’s women for the hair inspiration. #NseneneSeason#cannes2015,’ she captioned a snap of her on the red carpet.
Lupita also rocked a deep purple lip, which was the perfect jewel-toned clash for her standout Gucci down.
We really thought her powder blue Prada dress from the 2014 Oscars couldn’t be beaten, but oh, how we were wrong. Girl loves her pleats!
And Twitter totally adored it, too. ‘Lupita’s dress oh my god it’s beautiful’, one user wrote. ‘Ummm, @Lupita_Nyongo in that dress. Perfection’, gushed another.
Before her red carpet arrival, the actress took a moment of reflection on Instagram. Sharing a snap of her crouched looking like a princess as she was enveloped in the folds of her green gown, she wrote:
‘Reflection before Projection. #latergram @festivaldecannes @chopard @gucci.’
We can’t wait to see what other sartorial surprises she’s got packed in that Cannes suitcase…
