Lily-Rose Depp has just taken to Instagram to make a very big statement. And we take our hats off to her.
Following in the footsteps of Cara Delevingne, Johnny Depp’s daughter has decided to take part in the Self Evident Truths campaign, which works to highlight the wide range of people that do not feel they conform to the idea of hetrosexuality.
Cara famously used this platform, as well as her own Instagram page, to reveal that she didn’t count herself as hetrosexual either.
The aim of the project is to feature the photos of 10,000 individuals who identify as anything other than 100 percent straight. According to a YouGov survey, almost half of 18-24 year olds in the UK do not identify as being 100% straight.
Tillett Wright says of her campaign: “This project exists to spread awareness and understanding about a broader spectrum of human sexuality,” she says. “We want to bring human stories from within the LGBTQ community to the world, so that we can begin to erase the boundaries between ‘Gay’, ‘Trans’, ‘Straight’, and ‘Other'”.
She has joined Lily-Rose for a snap on Instagram, saying how much it means that the Chanel model has decided to lend her face to the cause: “She decided to wanted to be in Self Evident Project because she falls somewhere on the vast spectrum, and I couldn’t be happier to welcome her to the vast family.”

On the official Self Evident Truths Instagram, Lily-Rose poses alongside other young faces, and it is explained: “These sweet teen dreams joined the Self Evident Project family over the weekend. The entire point of this project is to help young people feel good being true to themselves, so to us, this is the ultimate win! They are numbers 9,559 – 9,661. We’re getting close!”
So there you have it, guys. Don’t be afraid to be yourself.
And it’s also fabulous to see Lily-Rose rocking her incredible genes in yet another photoshoot.
